Our Team

Dr. Benny Peña is a graduate of Schreiner University and the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Peña and his family have lived in Kerrville since 1997. Dr. Peña was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas.

After high school Dr. Peña enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and is a decorated veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. This is when he first became interested in optometry. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, he managed a retail optical in Bryan, Texas, and played bass guitar with the Roger Creager Band. His wife, Stephanie has been with the Family Sports Center for over 10 years. Their three children, Harleigh, Nicholas, and Nathan attend Notre Dame Catholic School.

Doctor Peña’s interests include playing music, traveling, coaching sports, & collecting classic cars Dr. Benny Peña is the chief optometrist at Texas State Optical in Fredericksburg and also sees patients at TSO Kerrville.

Dr. Amanda K. Williamson is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry and a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Williamson is passionate about maximizing her patient’s visual potential and ocular health by caring for each patient as an individual and addressing their specific questions and concerns.

She has gained extensive experience with pediatric eye care, vision therapy, co-management of cataract surgery, fitting specialty contact lenses and managing ocular disease. Dr. Williamson is a native Texan and her husband, Evan, was raised right here in Fredericksburg. In her free time, Dr. Williamson loves to cook, read and spend time with her husband enjoying the great outdoors.

Dr. Heather Anderegg graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She pursued her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry graduating Magna Cum Laude.

She is now a big part of the eye care team at Texas State Optical – Fredericksburg and continues to provide quality care to al our patients. Dr. Anderegg and her husband Aaron were born and raised in Fredericksburg.

After finishing college the Andereggs were excited to move back to Fredericksburg to raise their four boys, Henry, Elijah, Benjamin, and Zachary. Her husband Aaron is a computer teacher at Hunt School. Doctor Anderegg’s interests include baking, camping, running, and World War II.
